Hon.Chief Minister, Gujarat inspecting Ahmedabad Phase-2 Work

“માન. મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી ભૂપેન્દ્ર પટેલે અમદાવાદ મેટ્રો રેલ પ્રોજેકટ ફેઝ-૨ ના મોટેરા થી સેક્ટર-૧, ગાંધીનગર ના રૂટ પર નિર્માણાધિન મેટ્રો રૂટ અને સ્ટેશન્સની વિવિધ કામગીરીનું નિરીક્ષણ આજે સવારે મુખ્ય સચિવશ્રી રાજકુમાર, માન.મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી ના મુખ્ય અગ્રસચિવશ્રી કૈલાસનાથન, માન.મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રીના મુખ્ય સલાહકાર ડો. હસમુખ અઢિયા, ગુજરાત મેટ્રો રેલ કોર્પોરેશનના એમડી તથા માન.મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રીના સલાહકાર શ્રી એસ.એસ.રાઠૌર, માન.મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી ના અધિક મુખ્ય સચિવશ્રી પંકજ જોશી તથા સચિવ શ્રીમતી અવંતિકા સિંગ સાથે કર્યું હતું.

માન. મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી એ અલગ સ્ટ્રક્ચર થયેલ બાંધકામો જેમ કે ઇન્દ્રોડા ખાતે કાસ્ટિંગ યાર્ડ, સ્ટેશન તથા બે મોટા પુલો ૧. સાબરમતી નદી પરનો પુલ ૨. નર્મદા કેનાલ પરનો કેબલ સ્ટેડ બ્રિજ નું બારીકીથી નિરીક્ષણ કરેલ હતું. તેઓશ્રી એ મેટ્રો રેલ પ્રોજેકટનું પ્રગતિ રિવ્યુ કર્યું હતું તથા બાંધકામના વિવિધ પાસાઓની જાણકારી મેળવીને સૂચનો કર્યા હતા.“

Ahmedabad Phase-1 Fully Commissioned

“The Ahmedabad Phase-1 project on 30th September 2022 at Kalupur Metro station was commissioned by Hon’ble PM Shri. Narendra Modi along with Hon’ble CM of Gujarat, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Hon’ble Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hob’ble Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, MP- Minister of State for Railways & Textiles and other dignitaries of Gujarat. North-south and East West lines of total 29 stations and 38.6 km was commissioned and the same was further operationalized in October 2022 with all the system in place for the citizens of Ahmedabad. “

“The total project is 40.03 km long Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase I comprising of two corridors and has a total of 32 stations out of which 28 stations are elevated and 4 stations are underground. East-West corridor is 20.91 km long which includes both 14.40 km elevated and 6.6 km of underground section whereas North-South corridor is 19.12 km long and comprises elevated section”



“Hon’ble PM, as Chief Minister of the State was clear that metro route should be such as to service the poorer sections of the society where the need and demand for public transportation is more, travel time is more due to narrow roads, congestion etc. He also suggested utilization of Railway corridor to reduce the land acquisition & hardship to residential societies and commercial establishments and thus also leading to smooth Multi Modal integration. Hence, on the North-South corridor, the Metro and Indian railways Ahmedabad- Botad line are running parallel and adjacent for 8.5 km.”

“MMI Connectivity is being provided with Indian Railways, the Bullet train and Bus Systems (BRTS, GSRTC and City Bus service). This includes connectivity with BRTS at Ranip, Vadaj, AEC etc. and with Railways at Gandhigram, Kalupur and Sabarmati Railway stations etc. Last mile connectivity is also planned using E-Rickshaw.”



“Ahmedabad Metro Project is a massive infrastructure project involving underground tunnels, viaduct & bridges, elevated and underground station buildings, ballast less rail tracks and modern GOA 3 Rolling Stock, Tunnel Ventilation system, HVAC, Signalling, Telecom, AFC, Platform Screen Door, Traction/ Third Rail, Lifts, Escalators, E&M, Fire Fighting Security Equipment, Entry/Exit structures and Teams for Operation of Trains & Stations all integrated for seamless automatic train operations.”

“There are total of 32 Train sets and 96 Train coaches, 129 Lifts, 161 Escalators & 126 Entry/Exit Structures at stations in this project. The stations have provision for 6 train coaches though at present trains will be running with 3 coaches.”

“The project has been undertaken by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd., a 50:50 SPV of GOI and GOG and has been provided bi-lateral funding by JICA amounting to Rs. Rs. 6,066 Cr. The total Project cost for Ahmedabad Phase-1 project is Rs. 10.773 Cr.”

“Despite 3 waves of Covid-19 and its resultant effect like lockdown, containment zones, shortage of labour, reduction in availability of items needed both from India and abroad, delay in transportation due to lock downs in other countries and shortage of containers for transport etc., the project has been successfully completed and was ready for commissioning.”

“CEREMONY TO COMMENCE WORK OF AHMEDABAD METRO RAIL PROJECT PHASE-II AND LAYING OF FOUNDATION STONE AND CEREMONY TO COMMENCE WORK OF SURAT METRO RAIL PROJECT HAVE BEEN PERFORMED BY THE AUSPICIOUS HANDS OF THE HON’BLE PRIME MINSTER OF INDIA SHRI NARENDRA MODI ON 18th JANUARY, 2021 VIA VIDEO CONFERENCING. “

“Ceremony to commence work of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II was performed at Mahatma Mandir, Sector-13, Gandhinagar at 10:30 AM. Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah (via video conferencing), Hon’ble Union Minister of State (independent charge) Dr.Hardeep Singh Puri (via video conferencing) have graced the occasion with their presence.”

“Ceremony to Laying of Foundation Stone and Commence work of Surat Metro Rail Project was performed at Diamond Bourse Dream City, Surat.”

Tunnelling from Kalupur launching shaft to Gheekanta Station has been completed

“Tunnelling from Kalupur launching shaft to Gheekanta Station has been completed in the first week of July 2019. As on 10th July 2019, 1970 meters out of the total scope of 3300 meter(60%) of UG2 package tunnelling is completed by TBM from Kalupur Launching Shaft to Gheekanta Station, Breakthrough for Both the TBMs are also completed.”

Inaugurating Metro Rail Services between Vastral Gam Station to Apparel Park Station.

“Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated Ahmedabad Metro RaiL Project Phase-1 to the Nation by inaugurating Metro Rail Services between Vastral Gam Station to Apparel Park Station. “

“Hon’ble Prime Minister took a train ride between Vastral Gam Station to Nirant Cross Road Station along with differently abled school children from Umang Deaf and Dumb School of AMC, thereafter he laid the foundation stone for the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase – II having two Metro Rail Corridors (from Motera to Mahatma Mandir via Akshardham and from GNLU to Gift City) with combined length of 28.2 km, at an estimated project cost of Rs. 5384.17 Cr. The Phase – II is an extension of North South Corridor of Phase-I from APMC to Motera.

Hon’ble Prime Minister was accompanied by Hon’ Governor, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dy. Chief Minister, Secretary of MoHUA, Government of India, Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Union Minister of MoHUA, Mayor of Ahmedabad and Ambassador of Japan.
The regular services of Metro Rail has begun from 10 AM, 6th March 2019. Initially, the fare structure is implemented to be minimum Rs. 5 for first 2.5 KM and Rs. 10 from 2.5 to 7.5 Kms. As per this formula, the fare from Vastral Gam Station to Apparel Park Station will be Rs.10/-. “

Signing Contract Ahmedabad Phase-1

GMRC has achieved an important milestone by signing a General Engineering Consultancy (GEC) contract with SYSTRA S.A. led consortium for Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-I. The contract signing ceremony was held in the GMRC office at Gandhinagar and the contract was signed & exchanged between Shri I P Gautam, Managing Director of GMRC Co. Ltd. and Shri Hari Somalraju, representative from SYSTRA, the lead member of consortium. This consortium also includes RITES Limited from India, Oriental Consultants Global Company Limited from Japan and AECOM Asia Company Limited from Hong Kong as members of the consortium.
