Fare Rules
- Following are the Fare Media allowed for Travelling within GMRC Network:
- QR – Tickets (Including Paper & Mobile App Tickets)
- Contactless Smart Token (CST)
- Contactless Smart Card (CSC)- GMRC
- NCMC (National Common Mobility Card)
- Temporary Paper Ticket (It will be used in case of Failure of AFC System)
- Special Paper Tickets (For Special Events/Occasions)
- Following are Fare Products available for Travelling within GMRC Network
- Single Journey Ticket
- Return Journey Ticket
- Group Ticket (For Group of Passengers more than 09)
- Two Children only under 3-feet height are allowed to travel free if accompanied by one adult.
- Passengers can purchase Tickets from Ticket Windows at all operational stations by payment through Cash/UPI/POS (Debit/Credit Card). In addition, QR-Tickets can be purchased online from official “GMRC Mobile App” by payment through UPI/Debit/Credit Cards/Net banking.
- Passenger carrying expired/Invalid QR ticket will treat as ticketless passenger.
- Snapshot/photo/image in mobile or photocopy of QR ticket will not be considered as valid travel ticket and passenger found using these will be considered as a ticketless passenger.
- The QR-Paper ticket & Digital Mobile QR tickets shall be valid for use within 30 minutes and 180 minutes respectively of issuance for Journey, only from QR ticket issuing station.
- QR ticket is valid for entry through the Fare gates of originating station only and Passenger have to keep their travelling QR ticket intact till their journey is completed.
- If QR ticket damaged or lost by passenger while travelling, then no replacement will be provided.
- Passengers claiming phone hang, loss, battery failure, switched-off device, or network issues for a digital QR mobile app ticket will be treated as ticketless passengers.
- The Mobile QR Ticket can be purchased between the prescribed scheduled timings only.
- Each QR ticket is itself a ticket-cum-Receipt, so there is no provision of additional receipt for passenger.
- NCMC are issued, operated and maintained by Banking institution as per the governing guidelines for the product.
- All refund, replacement or after sale dispute/grievance related to NCMC will be dealt by respective issuing bank and GMRC will not be liable for any after sale service other than resolving travelling related issues and mismatches.
- Lost or Unreadable NCMC shall neither be replaced nor be refunded by GMRC.
- All the passengers travelling using NCMC are offered 10% discount on completion of journey as per current fare rules.
- Every valid entry will have to be followed by a valid exit. Mismatch for the permitted sequence will be penalised at EFO as per penalty procedure, except in case of exit having been made due to any emergency / incident.
- If Entry Mismatch is generated in NCMC due to missing of Exit from other transport system (other than GMRC), adjustment will be done as per penalty procedure of GMRC.
- If an NCMC cardholder’s travelled fare exceeds the available Transit Wallet balance, the fare gate (FG) will not permit exit. If the passenger fails to top up the NCMC card in such cases, they will be treated as a ticketless traveller.
- Travel using Token or GMRC CSC is permitted only within Phase 1(Ahmedabad) stations and not permitted to travel between Phase-1(i.e. Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam and APMC to Motera Stadium ) and Phase-2(i.e. Koteshwar to Mahatma Mandir and GNLU to Gift City).
- Travelling in reverse direction from destination station is not permitted. Passenger must exit from paid area and re-enter to travel back, paying the full fare for the new journey.
- Refund of Ticket: Only unused QR-Paper Ticket/Token (not used for the entry) can be refunded within 30 minutes from time of issue from the issuing station. No partial refund of tickets is allowed. Also Group QR ticket & Digital Mobile QR tickets are non-refundable.
- Maximum permissible Time: 20 minutes in case of Exit from Same Station and 240 Minutes in case of Exit from other Station by QR ticket.
- Luggage Limit: Passenger is allowed to carry luggage of Weight 25 Kg and Dimension of 80 cm x 50 cm x 30 cm (Length x Breadth x Height). Luggage of Size and/or weight more than this limit will not be allowed.
- Penalty:
- Penalty of Rs. 200/- will be levied if person is caught trying to carrying away token outside premise of GMRC.
- Penalty of Rs. 50/- plus Maximum fare of the system will be charged, if passenger is found without valid Ticket in paid area in line with Section 69 of Metro Railways (Operations & Maintenance) Act, 2002
- Difference of fare will be charged from passenger if they overstep their journey beyond the destination station.
- Penalty of Rs. 50/- plus difference of fare overstepped will be levied if person is caught trying to exit the gate (by tailgating, jumping over the gate or any other unfair means) without paying the fare for overstepped distance.
- Penalty of Rs. 10/- per hour per person subject to maximum of Rs. 50/- per person for staying in paid area for time more than Maximum permissible time.
- Penalty of the maximum fare from the last four transactions, or from the last available transactions as per the NCMC travel history, will be applied to NCMC travellers in case of an Entry/Exit sequence mismatch in the GMRC system.
- Penalty of Rs. 150/- will be imposed if the Entry and Exit sequence is not properly followed while accessing the paid area of the metro premises using a Digital Mobile QR ticket in line with Section 64(1) of Metro Railways (Operations & Maintenace) Act, 2002
