ANY OTHER / GENERAL INFORMATION
The right to information means that the citizens have right to obtain any information
(except those exempted from disclaims) under the control of Public Authority i.e.
Government and substantially financed by the Government. The information can be
obtained:
- By inspection of records
- By taking Notes and extracts
- By taking certified copies
- By taking certified sample of material
- We can also obtain the information in form of diskettes, floppies, tapes and video
cassettes or in any other electronic mode or through printouts.
Who can obtain the information:-
Every citizen of India has been provided with the Right to obtain information under
the Right to Information Act, 2005.
Fees to Obtain Information:-

Time limit under Right to Information Act, 2005:-
1 | Where an application is made to Public Information Officer (PIO) | Within 30 days |
2 | Where an application is made to Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) | Within 35 days |
3 | Where any part of application is transferred to any other public authority | Within 35 days |
4 | Where the information concerns the life of liberty of a person | Within 48 days |
5 | Where the information in respect of allegation of violation of human rights is sought from intelligence and security organization specified in the second schedule |
